Rode in Gran Fondo yesterday

Rode 100 mile bike ride yesterday in San Diego. Weather was unseasonable... it rained all but about an hour of my ride, it was cold, windy and there was even some hail at the top of the mountain. I saw two guys get off their bikes and walk them up the mountain, and at the top where it was hailing and freezing cold there were guys calling their wives to come get them. Another group loaded their bikes on the van and drove down, then got back on and finished from there (cheaters!). This was kind of a last minute impulsive decision, I'd never gone more than 40 miles on a bike before yesterday and I had never done a ride in the rain. It was brutal. I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be but my quads were screaming on the climb up the mountain. Today they tight (DOMS will be a bitch) and because of that my knees are achy. What I really need is a deep tissue massage, but I can't afford that so I guess I'll go foam roll.
